Cookie Decorating.

The journey with the decorating bag began at Cookies by Design, a national franchise that specializes in cookie bouquets. I had the honor of stepping into this role years later at Dinkel’s Bakery. I was met with a tasty challenge when stepping into the decorating game at Dinkel’s, where I had the privilege to create and incorporate my own design ideas.

At Dinkel’s, their cookies and frosting were entirely different than what I was used to working with in my former role at Cookies by Design; this gave me the opportunity to expand my decorating capabilities. Many of the designs you see featured below are my own based upon current events or happenings or were custom orders/requests.

Hooked on Crochet.

I picked up the hook when I was about 10 years old; in high school, I found this craft kept me more focused in classes, where I would create nearly a scarf a day. Teachers had no qualms as it kept the grades high and allowed them to put in their requests for custom items.

Flash forward to my early twenties; I was eagerly awaiting a new job opportunity and found myself with a bit of time on my hands. Unable to stay stagnant for long, I decided to kick up an Etsy shop that highlighted crocheted items based upon music and pop culture, landing me a spot on a Buzzfeed list, featuring the best homemade items based upon the show, Arrested Development.

Now, this delightful activity has been part of my life for over 25 years. While CrochetBeat has taken a hiatus, you can still visit my ETSY shop.

Social Media Management.

I enjoy bringing creativity into more structured settings; I have been lucky enough to do this in nearly all of roles from running social media, crafting one-pagers outlining business models and services, creating promotional highlights, and conjuring up graphics. I have been using Canva for over 10 years and have been able to leverage this skillset very effectively both personally and professionally.
